We decided to head to Anna Maria again this year with our friends to spend a week in paradise!!
Here we are in Chicago!
We spent the night in Tamp and the next day let the girls swim in the pool for a bit before we headed to the island.
We finally made it to our beautiful rental home and let the kids take a late swim. We were all hoping the forecast was wrong and the tropical storm would miss us.
It seemed as if the forecasters got it right and we were going to get wet. We took out to the beach first thing Sunday. They waves were huge and dangerous for the littles to be in without and adult.
We were loosing beach fast, but the kids did try and help by making a dam.
The girls and I in our favorite place!
The wind got to be a little much on the beach so we brought the kiddos back to the house and let them swim until the rains moved in!
Took the golf cart for a little spin!
And then the storm moved in!
Monday just brought a whole lot of wind, rain and flooding.
Not much else to do on a rainy day!
The rain let up for a bit so we thought we would be tourist and go check out the beach!
And yep, the beach was gone. Cold and windy!!
Searching for treasure in more inside activities.
Tuesday afternoon the rain finally stopped!
I ran to the store for a few things we needed and took some photos of the flooding.
Jeff and I took the kids down to the lake to see if we could find any shells! It was really, really windy!
The house blocked the wind so the afternoon was prime pool time!
Later that afternoon we headed back down to the beach for a bit.
In the evening the guys went shelling and found these amazing, but gross, Lightning Welks. Jeff also took a photo of this beautiful sunset.
Wednesday brought on a beach day, but the ocean was still too rough to get in. We hung out there for a while and then headed back to the pool!
Thursday brought a beautiful beach day for us!
Looking for shells!
Cassidy and I.
We wrapped up the night with a beautiful sunset!
On Friday, out last day, we had a fabulous day!!
We started it with checking out our shells we had collected all week.
And then of course we hit the beach and it didn't disappoint!
Brody wanted to look under the water, but the waves were still a little rough, so Bob moved him around! Too funny.
Our last spin in the kart....
We stopped at a the Pier before ice cream and got to see this beautiful sunset and a manatee!
And the Sunshine bridge never disappoints!
Last night at the ice cream shop, that was amazing with Julia's food allergy!
Saturday is always a sad day...
The kiddos sitting for the last photo.
We had our last meal before we left on the beach!
And this is the hot mess we had to deal with during a flight delay in Chicago on the way home.
While the weather wasn't ideal, it was still a wonderful time spent with friends in a beautiful place!
