Pinkalicious and Turkey Tango

Last weekend we took the girls to see a little play just for kids. It was based on the books Pinkalicious and the girls loved it. We are going to have to take them again! Here they are with the main character!

It was time for Natalie's turkey party at school and we were invited to watch them do the turkey tango. Here she is giving me her silly face, which I find pretty adorable.

And here she is doing the turkey tango with her class mates. Video to come. Of course she is standing by Abbie, her BFF.

So Thankful Gift!

I made these gifts for our neighbors and for the girls' teachers. A few people have asked me how so I thought I would share.

For the carrier you will need:
-Felt, off the bolt, not the little squares
-coordinating fabric for the bow and lid toppers
-Regular Mouth Half Pint Jars with Lids
-Coordinating Scrap-booking Paper for the Tag

I tried to scan in the template that I used so hopefully you can print it at 100% and use it as a pattern.

The two small semi circles at the bottom should be on the fold. I found out that felt has A LOT of give, so I had to make the holes small to allow them to stretch.I used a hole punch and it went through the felt just fine.

I just cut the coordinating fabric in strips in a length that I liked!

The tag was made with a Cricut and the design is from the DoodleBugs cartridge. On the back of the tag is a saying that I printed on a label. I have those pictured below. I got the labels, for the back of the tag and for the jars, at Walmart and found the templates on-line.

As for what is in the jars, I got ready made refrigerated pie dough and cut each circle into fourths. I rolled it into a ball and then rolled it out into a rectangle. I dropped it like a cup into the jars, not worrying about the bottom. I used the Libby Pumpkin Pie Recipe which you can find here. I put all the jars on a baking sheet and cooked them the same time it suggested for one pie. I just divided it evenly in the jars. It does expand, so don't make it too full. I used an addition crust to make the decorations and I baked them separately.

For the cake, I made it in a separate pan and then tore it up and layered it with icing. Natalie had a great time adding the sprinkles.

I hope that it works for you! Happy Thanksgiving!!

Cheers, Tears and Birthdays!

We have had some unseasonably warm days and have taken full advantage of them! Here are the girls on their bikes. Julia can now really peddle her trike and loves to chase after the big girls.

Here is Julia with her baby!

Natalie and Emily in their matching outfits, I love how Julia is trying to jump in the photo.

And here is Natalie being, well, just sassy.

Julia and Natalie helping me make breakfast. I love staying at home, I love not missing these moments with my girls. They are truly priceless.

Natalie and Julia both pulling their wagons.

My aunt was diagnosed with breast cancer and had a double mastectomy this week. So, of course, her nieces coped by going to have dinner and drinks and then road tripping to a casino. There is nothing like family!

Natalie is cheering for biddy basketball at the YMCA and they just got their uniforms for the last game. They are so adorable!

Julia "watching" the game.

Julia copying the cheerleaders.

We celebrated Jeff's birthday with a homemade cake and a pirate theme! Here are the girls decorating the cake.

And they were so excited to pick this theme out at the store and wear the eye patches!

I asked Natalie what she wanted to get Jeff and she told me that he likes Gatorade, so that is what she got him! Too cute.

Julia picked out a sweater.

Getting ready to blow out the candles!

Happy Halloween!!

Natalie and Julia were so excited for Halloween, but with Julia's peanut allergy I thought it might be more fun to get an item instead of candy. The girls thought their pet ghosts were cute, but I think they were mad it wasn't candy.

Getting ready to go trick or treating!!

So on Halloween Natalie decided to be Belle!

What is more fun than trick-or-treating with friends?

The family on Halloween!

Time to go and Hadley and Braden even joined us! Hooray!!

Julia loving getting candy!
