Vacation Post! Saturday, July 13

It wouldn't have been right to be so close to an American Girl store and not go! Jami found out that it had a cafe so we had a girls only lunch. It was so much fun! They had little doll high chairs and of course Julia had to bring Picasso so they made sure to give him some goodies too.

The girls waiting to eat breakfast.

The girls and their dolls (and horses).

Picasso enjoying some tea.

Natalie and Julia enjoying their breakfast.

Julia loved the star shaped butter.

After we ate we headed to the store. They had a photo op with the doll of the year which is Saige and her horse Picasso. Julia was a little excited.

After the American Girl store in Dallas we took off for Houston.

Julia was a little tired, but she did love the new pony she got!

For each car ride we got the girls a new little something and this happened to be a new mermaid! Natalie was excited!

On our way to Houston we stopped at Bucees for a quick snack. We got gas and then decided to leave our new credit card. Sigh. It was a great way to start a trip!

We also made some homemade Gak for the trip and the girls enjoyed playing with it when we got stuck in a little traffic.

We finally made it to Houston and the Downtown Aquarium! We met Cassidy and Bob there with their kiddos and had dinner and then checked the aquarium out and rode some rides!

Views around the aquarium.

Dinner time! The girls were pretty disturbed by the fish we were eating. We had to explain that the fish was dead and they kept asking us if the dead fish was good. It was too funny!

Goof ball at dinner with the sea horse salt shaker.

The girls waiting to go to the aquarium!

Outside the aquarium.

Finally, we get to go in and see some fish!

And in an interesting twist, the aquarium also had white tigers.

The girls wanted to feed the sting rays and it seemed cool until they had to hold dead fish. Natalie was out, but Julia loved it.

After we were don inside at the Aquarium, we decided to head outside and check out the attractions!

Waiting in line for the shark train.

Getting ready to see some sharks.

Now it was time to ride some rides! Julia wanted to ride the carousel and the diving bells (simiar to a ferris wheel, but really tall). So, we did it. Man, the diving bells were tall!

Julia loved the bells!

After the Aquarium we headed to Bob and Cassidy's. They have a beautiful home and were so sweet to invite us to stay. Here we are in Brody's room, where the girls are sleeping, winding down from the day. It didn't end like this, Julia ended up in our room because she kept waking everyone else up!

Vacation Posts! Friday, July 12

On Friday, July 12 at around Noon, we met the Burbach's in our driveway and took out for our very first road trip vacation! We had scheduled 8 days of fun and couldn't wait to get started!

Before we could leave we had to get Max to the vet so they could take care of him while we were gone. Bye - Bye Max, see you in about a week!

Here we all are, packed up and ready to go!

I decided to hang out in the back with the girls for the first leg of the trip.

 FIRST STOP - Blackwell, Oklahoma
Total miles driven: 77

We stopped to check in on the hotels and to see how the construction of the new rooms was coming. The girls had a great time on the elevator! Here we are loaded up and ready to hit the road again!

SECOND STOP - Arcadia, OK
Total Miles driven: 167

We heard of a fun place to stop called Pops. It is located in Arcadia, OK and has lots of different kinds of Sodas. It is a gas station and a diner.

It has this really fun huge soda bottle out front.

Standing in front of the store.

Getting their sodas.

Love this photo of my two clowns in front of the sodas.

Yep, they have all kinds!

Enjoying some soda!

Along with soda they also had old fashioned candy. They had my favorite, pixie stick type sugar in candy shapes? They are super yummy and the girls thought so too!

Some family photos

As we were leaving Pops I saw this on my car. Earlier I had heard something that scared me, sounded like something hitting the car. Evidently a bird hit us.

THIRD STOP - Oklahoma City, OK
Total Miles driven: 187

It was time to eat and we weren't going to miss a chance to eat at:

Enjoying our dinner!

Time for dessert! Yum - Oreo cheesecake!

Because the cheesecake might have had peanuts, they made Julia a plate of strawberries and whipped cream! It was a hit!

After dinner we walked to the mall to let the girls get some wiggles out. While we were there Jami and I checked out the Coach store. Julia mentioned to me that she was thirsty and magically some water appeared. I wonder what would have happened if she wanted a car?

Now it was time to head to the hotel and try to get some sleep!

FOURTH STOP - Addison, TX
Total Miles driven: 387

We got to the hotel around 11 and the girls were beat so we headed right to bed. The girls have never shared a bed so this was all new to them. They did just fine and Julia even had enough energy to be ornery about me taking her photo. Don't worry, I got her.

Good night babies, sleep tight!

Puppy Love!

We just love our pup!
