Happy Fourth of July!

We spent the entire week of the fourth having all kinds of fun!

We started out the week with a trip to the zoo with friends.

To get ready for our big 4th of July fun at Mi Mi and Pa Pa's ranch, we had to make a quick grocery run where we found these great new carts! The girls were angels in the store!

I just love having random conversations with our kids. Here is one with Julia.

The weather has been unseasonable cool, so we took a spin in Mustang to take advantage of it.

We are planning a trip to Texas and Mom got the girls these adorable swim suits. Julia likes hers just a little.

For something fun to do while we are in the car we decided to make Gak. Natalie made hers while Julia was sleeping, but here is Julia making hers.

We had some friends meet us at the ranch and then we headed to a near by small town to join in their July 4th fun! Here we are at the parade. The parade was kind of corny, but the girls scored tons of candy, so it was a win for them.

After the parade we headed back to the ranch and then tried to go back to watch the fireworks. Too bad about 4000 people had the same idea. Back to the ranch for our own fireworks show. We did have these hilarious glow in the dark masks for the girls to wear. Julia wanted nothing to do with the photo.

The next day we decided to head back to the small town to try out the carnival. It was the first time that my girls had been to one and they loved it! Good thing the other 3999 people went home. We had the place to ourselves. It was great!

Here the girls are on their first ride!

After that they were brave enough to ride it all - and so was Ma Ma. Here they are on the cars.

And on the airplanes.

And waiting for the small rocket ship.

Riding the spinning cups.

And the huge slide, that I really couldn't believe that they did.

Here is the first trip down. McKinley had a little spill, but thankfully was just fine and even wanted to go again!

Natalie was even brave enough to do the swings! Of course that made Julia mad, so we had to find a way for the babies to ride them too.

And here are Julia and I on the swings.

The girls were too little to ride the Ferris Wheel alone, so we joined them!

Not only did they have their first carnival ride experience, they had their first funnel cake, which was a winner.

On Saturday we decided to take the girls fishing. They had a great time and we got some great fish!

The girls were not excited to wait for us to get the rods ready.

Natalie and her fish!

Julia and I getting ready to fish.

Julia's first fish of the day!

McKinley's first fish of the day!

Both of the girls caught a fish at the same time!

Natalie reeling in another, and then decided she was done. That's my girl.

Julia also found some turkey feathers.

Mac catches another one!

Julia caught the biggest fish of the day! Her poor little rod almost didn't survive!

Adam managed to locate a bass.

We also made smores for the girls and yep, they liked those too.

We also had a little arts and crafts time. The girls made butterfly refrigerator magnets.

On Sunday, the girls were so wiped out, that Jeff went in to wake Julia up at 11 so that she would get to hang out with her cousins before they had to head home.

Of course the one photo I really wanted of them went like this. My kid, throwing the huge fit. Oh well.

Of course we can't go a week without some kind of allergy reaction. I am hoping that it is from Max, he was boarded and I think he got to be around some cats. If not that, maybe some cross contamination from Sonic. Either way it stinks and I hate that my baby has to deal with it.

We spent an impromptu day and night with Mi Mi. We started with lunch and the girls posed in their new dresses that Mi Mi got them.

Of course that evening the girls were so excited that they couldn't sleep. Julia didn't give it up until 11:30 and Mi Mi had to rock and sing to her. It was too sweet.

The next morning we met our friends for a show at the children's theater. It was really cute and the kids had a great time!

After Jeff got home we took the girls swimming and I am just amazed at how far they have come this year with their abilities!

Here is Julia diving down to get some princesses off the bottom.

And here is Natalie jumping in all by herself and swimming back to the side!! I am so proud of her!

Of course Julia wouldn't be left out. Here she is jumping in and having Jeff catch her. Goofy girl.

Puppy Love!

We just love our pup!
