March is such a crazy month for us and this year is no exception!!
On March 10th Carol and I threw a surprise 60th birthday party for my mom. It was so much fun. We had a progressive diner. We started with appetizers at Oeno Wine Bar, rode the trolley to Herferd House for steaks and then headed to Village Inn for pie. It was so much fun. I think we really got her.
Here she is entering the bar and realizing what is going on.
And here is the party princess showing off her hair I took her to have done.
This is a gift from Kendra. It is a wine glass with her initial and her birthday!

From on end of the spectrum to the other.....on Sunday, March 11th we took the girls to Sesame Street Live. It was Julia's first time and she was at first overwhelmed and then totally captivated!! Before the show they had a Play Place for the kids. It was really cute and there were lots of opportunities for photos. Some of the characters even came out to get the kids excited for the show.

Somebody move...I can't see!!
The first week of the month the girls had their annual allergy appointment. It went really good, but both girls had to have blood drawn. I love how pathetic they look in this shot. The nurse did a great job and hit them both on the first try. We have been having great luck with giving Julia cultured milk. We are going to try raw milk in office if the blood test shows her numbers reducing. Natalie never had a blood draw, so this should give us a basis for her wheat allergy. We are also testing her for a pineapple allergy after an unexplained hives incident. It takes two weeks to get the tests back, so it will still be a while. After we left the doctors, I took them both to get a prize. Julia picked out a ball and Natalie a barbie.
And here they are showing you their arms,
Because of Julia's love of cows, we are having a barnyard bash for her birthday. They had these cute little t-shirts that went a long with the tableware I bought for her party. I thought it looked a little like a boys t-shirt, so I added a skirt to it...along with frilly sleeves, rhinestones to the bell and a bow to the cow. I love it. This is Natalie's. Julia's has a special saying on it, thanks to Carrie Couture!!
As many of you know shopping with little ones is the pits. So, when I saw this cute swimming suit at Target, I picked up every piece they had, in two sizes to try on later. For some reason Julia get the biggest kick out of putting all the pieces on and then taking them all off again. She is hilarious.
This is Julia's "yep I just did that and wasn't it too cute" face.
It has been a struggle to find affordable, wheat-free food that tastes good. I stumbled across this book on the internet and bought it. It makes 1-2 servings in under 5 minutes in the microwave. It has been fantastic. Natalie loves what it makes and I am wasting nothing!!! Yea!!!
Because of the book, we are using the microwave a lot more. Here Julia is giving Jeff a lesson on how to run it.
